CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Sunday School

Our innovative and formative programs vary throughout the seasons of the Church year. All children ages are invited to participate in Sunday School! Volunteers are needed to assist with the 9:30 classes for children and adults. Program materials and training are provided. Children's Chapel

Children's Chapel is an offering for our children in PreK-3rd grades (younger children are welcome with a parental escort). Children are invited to process behind the cross in the last stanzas of the Processional hymn. Children’s Chapel provides an interactive Gospel activity, prayers and music for the younger members of our congregation. The children return to their families during the Peace and are present for Communion. Volunteers typically serve once every six weeks as either a leader or a helper. Junior EYC

Children in grades 4 through 7 are invited into the Undercroft before the service begins for snacks. They will then engage in age-appropriate explorations into faith with the Reverend Samantha K. McKean and fun, dynamic volunteers. They will end with prayers in the chapel, then rejoin the congregation during the Peace for Communion. Contact Rev. Samantha for more information or to volunteer.

Seasonal Events

Christ Church offers opportunities for children, youth and families to experience intergenerational learning through the traditions of the Church. To volunteer for these events, please contact Rev. Helen White. Examples include:

Nursery

Although children of all ages are always welcome in worship at Christ Church, we do offer the option of nursery care for younger children.  We provide a safe, clean, and happy environment where qualified nursery and childcare workers make each child feel comfortable and loved. The nursery is available each Sunday beginning at 9:30 when Adult Forum and Sunday School are in session.  Otherwise, the nursery opens at 10:15 every week for the 10:30 AM service.  Christ Church nursery is located in the Parish House, 18 Abercorn Street on the second floor.
