Mr. Mark K. Williams, Parish Musician. mark.jpg (7900 bytes)

Mark sees the church’s music ministry as an important tool for nurturing and building the Body of Christ as well as reaching out to the community of Savannah and beyond.  God has called him to serve full-time in Episcopal, Methodist, and Presbyterian churches in a career of more than 25 years. He has served at Christ Church since 1998.

As a church music composer, conductor, clinician, organist, and pastoral musician Williams sees music making not as an end in itself, but as a greater means to worshipping the Living God and to revealing His glory.   “It isn’t about me--it’s about Him,” Williams says.

Williams received a bachelor of arts from the University of Houston where he studied the organ and choral conducting with both Rice University and University of Houston faculty. He received his Master of Arts in Church Music from Seattle Pacific University but feels as a Christian music educator, he must be a continual learner.

Mark is married to Tina Zenker Williams who is a professional classical singer and fine voice educator.  Tina did her graduate work in voice at both the Peabody Conservatory and Georgia Southern University and runs a large voice studio out of the church’s Music Ministry.
