The Fruit of the Spirit

The Women of Christ Church have a long legacy of producing cookbooks. Previous versions contained a wealth of old Southern and Low Country culinary secrets, when recipes still tended to be referred to as “receipts.” Known as “artists in the preparation and connoisseurs in the consumption of food,” the original contributors were highly regarded as gracious hosts and accomplished cooks in the community.  In this updated version, recipes ranging from traditional and uniquely Southern family favorites to contemporary new selections from other regions of the country and abroad, provide a wealth of delicious offerings. Please enjoy this book and the wonderful collection of favorite recipes it contains, both old and new.  

The Fruit of the Spirit is dedicated to the original members of the Women of Christ Church, in thanksgiving for their years of Christian service and leadership to the congregation of Christ Church and the Savannah community. In 1935, their vision of extending Southern hospitality and providing servant ministry through the establishment of the Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens, which celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2010, has been an example to all the women of this congregation who have followed them.  

Copies of the cookbook are now available.  The cost is $15 per book – please plan to buy several copies!  The Fruit of the Spirit will be a terrific addition to your cookbook collection and it will make a perfect gift for someone special.
