January 13 – May 18

9:00 - 10:10 AM

Emmaus Room

Join us for an exploration of two of the great “prison epistles” from the hand of St. Paul!  During Epiphany/Lent, Fr. Marc will lead us in a study of one of his favorite epistles – Philippians – known as “the epistle of joy”.  During Eastertide, Clark Smith will teach the “crown jewel” of Paul’s mind, the epistle to the Ephesians.  Both of these letters, written by Paul while he was in prison, combine to offer us the experience of Christian freedom like no other texts of Holy Scripture.  Classes begin January 13th in the Emmaus Room in the Parish House, from 9-10 a.m.

Visionary Community

January 13 – May 18

9:00 - 10:10 AM

Conference Room

Cost: $13.00

Come join the Visionary Community Class as we discuss the question; What does it mean to be truly human?  What does it mean for us individually, for our families and children, and for the community of Christ Church?

The Greeks envisioned an ideal humanity. Their ethereal sculptures depict a transcendent, spiritual model.

Today many scientists view human beings as mere machines.

The Biblical view of humanity is different from both of these. For the writers of Scripture, to be human is to be in the image of God.  True Christian spirituality takes us away from sinfulness, and moves us closer to what God intends us.  When Christians are truly spiritual, we are fully human.

The book, Being Human by Ranald Macaulay and Jerram Barrs, will guide our conversation.

Joint us each Sunday for coffee, conversation and friendship.
